Marlin Lever Action Rifle - Model 336, 30AS, 30TK

Introduced in 1949, the Marlin model 336 has been and continues to be a popular rifle for brush hunting deer, this rifle ejects to the side which simplifies mounting a scope, unlike it's major competitor, the Winchester model 94. One of the best features of this Marlin lever action rifle design, is that the bolt can be easily removed, allowing the barrel to be cleaned from the breech. The Marlin 336 and its variants were commonly chambered in 30-30 Winchester but some models have been chambered in 35 Remington and a few in 44 magnum. Scope mounts and receiver sights made for the 336 may be used on any Marlin model 30 series lever action rifle that was drilled and tapped by the factory.

Also available is Williams WGRS-336 Aperture sight which can use the rear scope mounting holes. The front sight blade which is a standard 3/8 inch dovetail must be changed to a taller, 1/2 inch height or the gun will shoot about 8 inches high at a 100 yards.
